Undergraduate ScholarshipsRural Australian Medical Undergraduate Scholarships (RAMUS)Scholarships of $10,000 paid annually in each year of the medical course, are available each year to students with a rural background. These scholarships are open to students who have had a principal home address in a rural area for a minimum of five consecutive years. Further information and application details may be obtained from: National Rural Health Alliance: Monash University Undergraduate ScholarshipsMonash University celebrates academic excellence and supports students experiencing disadvantage. In 2009 a range of undergraduate scholarships and bursaries will be available. Scholarships for excellence will be awarded on the basis of achievement in the final year of secondary schooling, and will be offered to the highest achieving students applying for admission to Monash. Students offered a scholarship excellence must gain admission to the medicine course by meeting the criteria outlined above (relating to performance in UMAT and Interview as well as ENTER). The offer of a scholarship for excellence (which is based upon ENTER alone) does NOT imply acceptance into the medicine course. Monash will also offer additional scholarships to students from equity groups on the basis of academic achievement. Information about these programs will be available from July.
