Bachelor of Medicine/ Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)

The Monash MBBS is a five-year undergraduate degree. It is an interdisciplinary course, combining biomedical sciences and clinical skills training.

The course is thematic and places emphasis on clinical communication skills, with clinical contact visits to medical practices, community care facilities and hospitals commencing in the first year. Students are also required to spend time in rural areas as part of a health care team.

Bachelor of Medical Science degree (BMedSc)

Students who have successfully completed at least two years of the course and shown special aptitude may interrupt their studies for a year to pursue an area of medical science of particular interest and to learn valuable research skills.
On completion of the Bachelor of Medical Science year, students resume medical studies.
