Diana Asmar Multiple Sclerosis Research FundCr Diana Asmar, Councillor of the City of Darebin is eager to see advancements made into treatments and a cure for patients with Multiple Sclerosis. Multiple Sclerosis is a disease of the central nervous system that affects more young Australians than any other neurological condition. Its sufferers may experience life-long symptoms such as fatigue, loss of co-ordination, slurred speech, paralysis and blindness. Though the severity and range of symptoms is different in different people, its effects can be devastating due to the unpredictable and on-going nature of the disease. There is currently no cure. Diana Asmar knows this only too well as she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2000. She has thrown her support, and that of the people of Darebin, behind the quest to find a cure for this debilitating disease. She urges everyone with a similar hope to do the same by donating to the Diana Asmar MS Research Fund of the Monash University Medical Foundation.
